Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers before you begin.

Do you accept insurance?

Caula Counselor is a private-pay practice and does not submit claims directly. Upon request, you may receive a superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement when eligible. Reimbursement is not guaranteed, so please confirm your benefits and requirements with your insurer.

What ages do you work with?

Services may be available for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. During consultation, we will consider fit, consent, caregiver involvement, and the specific needs of the person receiving care.

What is clinical hypnosis?

Clinical hypnosis is a collaborative, consent-based method that uses focused attention and therapeutic suggestion. You remain able to communicate, make choices, and stop at any time.

What are Havening Techniques?

Havening is a psychosensory approach that may combine gentle self-applied touch, attention, and other techniques to support emotional regulation. It is used only when appropriate and with consent.

Are sessions confidential?

Counseling is confidential within legal and ethical limits. Information may need to be disclosed in situations such as suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult, serious and imminent risk of harm, a valid legal requirement, or written authorization from the client. Specific limits, including those involving minors, are reviewed during informed consent.

What if I am nervous about starting?

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We can move through the consultation and first session at a pace that feels manageable to you, with room for questions, preferences, and honest feedback.

How do I schedule?

Book a complimentary 45-minute consultation directly through the website or send a general inquiry. Routine inquiries are generally answered within approximately two business days.

Can I bring my child?

This may be possible when arranged in advance. The answer can depend on confidentiality, safety, the room setup, and the kind of session planned.

Do you provide crisis services?
